It is really important to know which skin type you are having. This helps us in using specific products which suit our skin without causing any harm and making our skin glowing and flawless. Every person has incomparable skin type mostly there are 6 types of skin as normal skin, sensitive skin, dry skin, oily skin, combined skin and scaly skin. Now you might be thinking how can you figure out your skin type. There is no worry for this issue, just there are a few simple steps to figure out your skin type. Knowing your skin type helps in using the right product for your skin. Our skin is the largest organ that we carry in our body like lungs, kidney and heart skin is also a very sensitive organ which really needs care. You can figure out your skin from this two methods.

Bare face method

Clean your face properly, use a cleanser gently on your skin and leave it to dry. Do not use any other moisturizer or serum on your skin. After 30 min check for shine on your chin, nose and forehead. And again after 30 mins check your skin by making different facial expressions to check if your skin feels dehydrated. If you feel your skin tight it is likely to be dry. If any shine on your nose or forehead your skin is likely to be normal or combined. If there is any additional shine on your cheeks with nose and forehead your skin is mostly to be oily.

Soaking up sheet method

This is a really easy and faster method to check your skin type. Really outstanding in differentiation to find your skin oily or dry. Smoothly place soaking up sheets on your different areas of face. Display the sheets towards light and see if oil is visible on your nose and forehead you mostly have normal or combined skin. If the sheet shows little or no sign of oil you have dry skin. And finally if the sheet is filled with oil you have oily skin. Now we will discuss different skin types

Basic Skin Types:

Normal skin

The word normal is used for well balanced skin. In T-zone nose, forehead and chin will be slightly oily. This type of skin is not too oily or too dry the scientific term used for this type of skin is known as Eudermic. This type of skin is not sensitive and contains few or not any imperfections And hardly visible pores on skin. We take care of normal skin by using a good cleanser, moisturizer and not irritating products and sunscreen if needed.

Oily skin

Over production of sebum from sebaceous glands which is under our skin is the result for oily skin. Sebum is an oily substance which is made up of fat. It is not harmful for our skin though it helps in keeping our skin moisturized. It keeps our skin shiny and reduces wrinkles than dry skin. Using too much fast food, salty food and alcohol causes oily skin. Oily skin clog our pores which result in pimples some people say oily skin is good but it makes our skin look greasy and we cannot skip washing your face again and again. We can reduce oily skin by using a toner, using soaking up sheets, using facial masks, dapping face dry and using moisturizer.

Sensitive skin

Having sensitive skin is common, it is not at all a medical issue. Just these skin type people have adverse and unpleasant reactions. Sensitive skin type people give unpleasant reactions to chemicals, fragrances and dyes present in products that get touched to their skin. Sensitive skin type people easily get rashes, dry patches, skin feels itchy, skin gets burned and sensitive to ultraviolet rays. Sensitive skin type people can protect themselves by taking showers under warm water, using fragrance free soaps, and using organic oil instead of perfumes.

Combined skin

These types of skin can be normal, dry in some areas and oily is others. Mostly the T-zone areas are oily nose, forehead and chin. These different areas need slightly different care than other areas. Combined skin has larger pores than other skin types; these types of skin face both dryness and oily skin issues. Best serums for combined skin can be used at night.

Dry skin

This type of skin creates uncomfortable conditions by causing cracking and itching due to a variety of different reasons. Having dry skin is not a serious issue, we can get dryness due to cold and hot weather, low moisture in the atmosphere, or immersing hot water. Even deficiency of vitamin E can even cause dryness, ace and rashes on skin. We can avoid dry skin by using ointment or cream rather than lotion, wearing lip balm, using moisturizer after washing and bathing, using skin care products. You can even have dry skin birth which can affect other parts of the body. Consult a skin care specialist if your dry skin is disturbing you a lot.

Scaly skin

Having scaly skin is also another sample of dry skin. Scaly skin can occur anywhere on your skin but mostly it affects lower legs, arms and thighs. Irritation and itching increase on skin which turns into scale formation. There is no cure for scaly skin but we can moisturize skin daily to prevent dryness, cracks and itching on skin.

Conclusion

Our skin can change over time and taking good care of it is really essential for making it work properly and staying healthy. Keeping your skin healthy and checking over it is really important to make any kind of adjustment needed at any time to make your skin flawless and healthy. Keeping your skin hydrated by drinking a lot of water and eating healthy food is also very essential for your skin.
